![]() Louisville also easily has a dozen gay bars, has a large pride parade, and has all the same professional LBGT associations as Indy. I would tend to say Louisville would hold its own with Indy, and in fact has much better urban neighborhoods than Indy where the gay population resides. Neither Louisville or Indy will be like Atlanta but of the two, Indy is the better choice. You can also expect some of the same narrow minded backward people you have in Atlanta, buy hey thats anywhere. I also know alot of gay couples who live in the burbs(mostly Carmel and Greenwood) but you would likely be happier in any of the above Urban neighborhoods. Just about anyplace downtown, Mass ave, the Canal.įletcher Place (just South of downtown) is good, Fall Creek Place, Meridian Park(north), Irvington (farther east). Holy Cross (just east of downtown) and Woodruff have larger gay populations. Indianapolis has more gay entertainment venues (dozen or so gay bars), a proffessional business association, numerous community and social organizations.Īs for neighborhoods. People are less closeted, (30,000 plus people at Gay pride last year). The actual gay population is considerably larger, many just seem to blend in. Having lived in both Louisville and Indianapolis, Indianapolis may be the better choice.
